The older you get, and this is a kind of a depressing thought, but in some ways you’re just biding your time between tragedies. Anytime something’s not going completely off the rails, you should be really thankful for it.

This story on the Avett Brothers and their bass player’s daughter made me weep in my car. There are so many lovely human beings with horrible things growing inside of them. Wishing this little girl all of the magic energy I can muster.
